I’m addicted to Hot Cheetos regardless of the horrible things it’s probably doing to my insides. I can’t even begin to count the bags of Hot Cheetos I have eaten in my lifetime, but my all-time favorite ones have to be the Chester’s Fries Flamin’ Hot (or Hot Cheetos Fries, as I call it).
They are the sunshine after a rainy day, finding the last shirt in my size that I wanted so badly and randomly finding money I hid or lost in my room months ago. Yes, they’re that good.
About a month ago, Jenn posted a YouTube video where she made Hot Cheetos quesadillas, and I was immediately intrigued, drooling, and craving. So, I thought I’d try it out for myself, but I wanted to try it on different foods to get the whole Hot Cheetos experience and all the amazing things it has to offer. Cheese is amazing. Hot Cheetos are amazing.
Then, I got to thinking…what else can I put Hot Cheetos on with cheese? I decided to put Hot Cheetos on errthang and make Hot Cheetos quesadillas, mac and cheese, and a grilled cheese sandwich. Guys, I’m salivating just thinking about the idea of it because I wrote this just before I was about to make them, but we’ll see if they end up as good as I think they will!
I wanted to use the Hot Cheetos Fries, but after watching Jenn Im’s video, the best-tasting ones by far were the Hot Cheetos Puffs, which I enjoy too. So, today’s foods will be tasted and tested with Hot Cheetos Puffs. Don’t worry; I bought a bag of Hot Cheetos Fries to snack on, too, ha! Okay, let’s get to the tasting!
Hot Cheetos Quesadilla (4.5 out of 5)
First up, we got the Hot Cheetos quesadillas. This was by far my favorite one. It lived up to the expectations that I had set a month ago. You can’t sprinkle the crushed or blended Hot Cheetos Puffs; you must pour them. Pour a mountain-high pile because it can easily get lost in the cheese flavor.
I think it was a nice kick to a regular cheese quesadilla, and sigh, tell me this is not what dreams are made of. Hot Cheetos and quesadillas, yum. I loved it more with guacamole, pico de gallo, and Taco Bell’s hot sauce.
Hot Cheetos Mac & Cheese (2.5 out of 5)
As you can tell by the shaky spoon, I got excited dumping the crushed Hot Cheetos Puffs. There is something very satisfying about seeing a layer of Hot Cheetos in place of breadcrumbs on mac and cheese. I used Kraft’s store-bought mac and cheese for this one and was slightly disappointed.
It was good for the first few bites, but it started tasting weird together. I couldn’t eat much of it before feeling sick. I think part of it was the displeasing flavor of this specific mac and cheese and part of it was that it just didn’t go well with the Hot Cheetos.
Hot Cheetos Grilled Cheese Sandwich (3 out of 5)
This sandwich may not have the glorious grill marks on the slices of bread as I didn’t use a George Foreman grill or anything fancy to make the sandwich. However, the buttery, crispy outsides are still a beautiful sight. This wasn’t as good as it could have been because I chose the wrong cheese.
I usually like American cheese or a mixture of Provolone (my favorite cheese) with something else, but I decided to try online recipes today. Most of the recipes online said to use cheddar cheese, so I did. That was a mistake. The cheese I used ruined this for me. It had so much potential! I would’ve given this sandwich a solid 4 or more if I had used different cheeses.
I may be smiling in this photo, but after I ate a little bit of everything….my vision became fuzzy like in the photo. I had a bad stomach ache and thought I’d want to avoid these food concoctions for a while, but I craved a Hot Cheetos quesadilla soon after…so I ate one, haha!
Let me know if you guys have tried putting Hot Cheetos on errrthang! Also, which Hot Cheetos is your favorite? I love hearing people’s answers to this question.
As you can tell from a wobbly spoon, I was thrilled to drop Cheetah’s crushed Hot Puffs. There’s something very nice to see a layer of hot cheetahs instead of breadcrumbs on poppy and cheese.
