How To Make Rava Kesari Recipe?
What about making an Indian sweet for Christmas? This is delicious, soft, and has little crunchie bits to elevate the experience a little more. Of course, this recipe is my mum’s, and she cooked it quickly. It came to about 13-15 squares when cut into the pieces like above.
Rava Kesari Ingredients:
- 1 cup semolina/Rava
- 1.5 cup water
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 3 tbsp ghee
- Handful of raisins
- A handful of cashew nuts
- 1/2 cinnamon stick
- 1 cardamom
- 0.5 tsp orange food coloring
- Salt to taste
How To Make Rava Kesari Recipe?
- Roast the semolina lightly on a nonstick pan and keep aside.
- Boil the water and keep it aside.
- On a pan on medium heat, add ghee, raisins, cashews, cinnamon stick and cardamon. Toast them.
- Add the boiled water to that pan.
- Add the food coloring and salt as well and mix.
- Bring down the heat, add the semolina and mix slowly.
- When it starts to thicken, add the sugar. It will thin down the mixture.
- Make sure to incorporate all the ingredients well.
- Taste to see if it requires more sugar or ghee.
- Once done, remove from heat and flatten down on a plate using a spoon.
- Cut into desired shape and size.
- Serve while warm!
It’s so delicious, and I went for way too many servings.
